Intensive FAQ's

What is an intensive?

An intensive is an immersive coaching experience designed to accomplish months of recovery work in a concentrated period of time. Rather than meeting for one hour each week, you’ll spend several consecutive days working one-on-one with your coach through personalized coaching sessions, guided exercises, and intentional reflection.

Who are intensives for?

We offer intensives for individuals recovering from sexual addiction or pornography addiction, betrayed partners healing from relationship trauma, and couples pursuing recovery together.

How do I know if an intensive is right for me?

An intensive may be a great fit if you:

  • Want to make meaningful progress quickly.

  • Feel stuck in your current recovery.

  • Are traveling from out of town.

  • Have experienced a recent disclosure or discovery.

  • Want to establish a strong foundation before beginning weekly coaching.

  • Prefer an immersive experience over spreading the work out over several months.

What’s the difference between the 3-day and 5-day intensives?

Our 3-Day Intensives are designed to jumpstart recovery by addressing the most important issues, establishing a recovery plan, and creating momentum.

Our 5-Day Couples Intensive is our most comprehensive offering. The additional coaching time allows us to explore deeper relational patterns, spend more time practicing new skills, address more complex issues, and create a more detailed roadmap for long-term recovery.

Which intensive should I choose?

There isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer.

Some clients benefit tremendously from three focused days. Others need additional time because of the complexity of their story, the severity of the betrayal, or the goals they hope to accomplish.

We’re happy to help you determine which option is the best fit during your consultation.

What happens during an intensive?

Every intensive is customized, but your schedule will typically include:

  • Extended one-on-one coaching sessions

  • Guided recovery exercises

  • Reflection assignments

  • Breaks throughout the day

  • Personalized recovery planning

  • Practical tools to continue your progress after returning home

Where do intensives take place?

All intensives are held in person at our office in beautiful Augusta, Georgia. Once your intensive is scheduled, we’ll send you a planning guide with recommendations for hotels, restaurants, transportation, and local attractions to make your visit as smooth as possible.

How many hours will we meet each day?

Each day of your intensive includes approximately three hours of one-on-one coaching with your coach, typically divided into multiple sessions throughout the day. Between coaching sessions, you’ll complete personalized reflection exercises, recovery assignments, journaling, reading, or other activities designed to help you process what you’ve learned and prepare for the next session.

This rhythm of coach, reflect, and apply allows you to make the most of your intensive. Rather than spending six or eight consecutive hours in conversation, you’ll have time to think, pray, process emotions, complete meaningful exercises, and return with new insights and questions. Many clients find that the work they do between sessions is just as valuable as the coaching itself.

Your exact schedule will vary depending on your intensive and your individual needs, but each day is intentionally designed to balance focused coaching with meaningful personal work and adequate time to rest and recharge.

Do I need to complete anything beforehand?

Depending on your situation, we may ask you to complete assessments, questionnaires, or reading assignments before arriving. Completing this work ahead of time allows us to maximize every hour of your intensive.

Will I need ongoing coaching afterward?

Most clients benefit from ongoing coaching after an intensive.

Think of an intensive as a jumpstart—not the finish line. The intensive creates momentum, but continued coaching helps you apply what you’ve learned, navigate challenges, and build lasting change.

Can I travel from out of state?

Absolutely. Many of our clients travel from across the country for their intensive. Augusta Regional Airport is just minutes from our office, and we provide planning resources to help make your trip as easy as possible.  There are also several other major airports within driving distance.

Is my intensive customized?

Yes.

No two clients—and no two marriages—are exactly alike. Every intensive is personalized based on your story, goals, and stage of recovery.

How do I get started?

The first step is scheduling a consultation. Together we’ll discuss your situation, answer your questions, and determine which intensive is the best fit for your recovery journey.
